ELIZABETH BEAVERS
Elizabeth Beavers is an international music educator and choral conductor whose work bridges cultures through performance and teaching. She holds a Master’s in Choral Conducting from Temple University and degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education with a concentration in piano from the University of Maryland, College Park. Elizabeth combines expertise in rehearsal technique, intercultural repertoire, and vocal pedagogy with a passion for fostering community and transformation through music.

Elizabeth has taught and led musicians of all ages, from early childhood through adult ensembles, in settings ranging from the International School of Busan and Asia Pacific International School in Seoul, South Korea, to Perry Hall High School in Baltimore County, USA. Her teaching emphasizes student-centered learning, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, helping students and ensembles grow in musicianship while experiencing music as a global, human art. In addition to her classroom experience, she holds an active State Teaching License (Music PreK–12) and extensive international teaching credentials, including IB DP Music certification, the IB PYP Category 1 Workshop, and TEFL/TESOL training. She has also completed professional development in backward design in music education, blended learning, and using digital portfolios to foster student learning.

Her leadership and creative projects include organizing students’ participation in music festivals abroad, mentoring student-led initiatives in composition, video, and performance, conducting community ensembles, and guiding international collaborations that bridge cultures and empower. As a Presser Graduate Music Award recipient, she furthered these aims through research in South Korea and a culminating collaborative performance in the United States.​

As a performer and conductor, Elizabeth has sung with professional ensembles including the National Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Philadelphia Singers, and has toured internationally with her alma mater choir, including a performance at the 10th World Symposium on Choral Music in South Korea. She served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Opera Chorusmaster at Temple University, leading undergraduate conducting labs, directing and accompanying university ensembles, and coaching vocal performance majors. She also served as Senior Conducting Apprentice with The Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia, conducting rehearsals and performances while cultivating ensemble skills, unity, and musicianship. She was a Fulbright Grant recipient and spent two years as a cultural ambassador teaching English at Masan Guam High School and Shinseong Girls’ High School in South Korea. During her grant period, she was awarded a Fulbright Korea Alumni Foundation grant to establish an extracurricular gospel choir that built confidence in English through expressive singing. ​
Elizabeth currently lives in Seoul, South Korea, where she continues to inspire schools, ensembles, and individual musicians, fostering community and intercultural understanding through choral music and education.
