Elizabeth Beavers is an international conductor and educator, passionate about cultivating empowered, compassionate, and musical communities.

Elizabeth has taught musicians ages two to adult through her experiences at Perry Hall High School in Baltimore County, the International School of Busan, and Asia Pacific International School in Seoul, South Korea. Recent work has included teaching about choral music and social change through a Project Based Learning approach, accompanying students to Seoul, South Korea and Shanghai, China for music festivals, and leading creative projects with students such as compositions, music videos, and student-led performance pieces.

Elizabeth holds degrees in both Vocal Performance and Music Education with a concentration in piano from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has taken additional coursework in activating student voice, diversifying choral repertoire and pedagogy, blended classrooms, and digital portfolios and is PYP and EAL certified. Additionally, she has conducted at the Eastman Choral Institute on Bach Motets, the Choral Chameleon Conducting Institute in New York City, and the University of Michigan Choral Conducting Symposium.
Elizabeth has led excellent choirs in both the East and West, sung with professional ensembles such as the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Singers. She has also toured around the world with her alma mater choir. One such trip brought her to South Korea for the 10th World Symposium on Choral Music and inspired her eventual return to South Korea.

Elizabeth learned Korean and received a Fulbright Grant to South Korea as a cultural ambassador at Masan Guam High School in Masan and Shinseong Girls' High School in Jeju City.

Elizabeth currently lives in Seoul, South Korea as a choir director and music teacher. She spends her free time practicing the janggu, a traditional Korean percussion instrument, visiting local farmers markets, and blogging about local vegan food and happenings.
